Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho is expected to leave the club as top-tier Premier League teams begin their transfer pursuit.
Out of favour Alejandro Garnacho has been attracting admirers after Rúben Amorim and the club decided not to include the young winger in their team plans for 2025/26.
Manchester United and Aston Villa have become almost synonymous in the media this summer transfer window, as numerous players are reportedly ready to make the switch between the two clubs, with Garnacho being a leading target for Villa.
Rumours started to gain traction after the Argentine controversially posted a photo on his social media of himself wearing on-loan teammate Marcus Rashford’s Aston Villa shirt on holiday.
However, Villa aren’t the only side hoping to secure Garnacho’s signature; Spurs have also been revealed to have entered the race.
Reports from MailSport suggest that Europa League winners Tottenham Hotspur will rival fellow European contenders for the sought-after winger. New manager Thomas Frank may decide Garnacho is the perfect signing to apply his philosophy at Tottenham.
Garnacho trains away from United first-team
The 21-year-old prepares for his move away from Manchester by training away from his teammates. Footage shows Garnacho was joined in isolated training with two more of the five United players expected to leave this summer.
As the winger attempts to stay fit during the pre-season away from the first team squad, United begin preparation ahead of their first pre-season game against Leeds United in Sweden at the Strawberry Arena on Saturday, 19th July.
Garnacho is not expected to play on Saturday as he explores a move away from the club, but new signings Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon have been included in the squad for the pre-season opener.
With possible replacements joining the squad soon, Garnacho will hope to secure a move away from the team as soon as possible to progress his career the best he can.
Tottenham could be perfect destination for Garnacho
With Frank beginning his tenure at Spurs, he has already brought a right-sided attacking threat, Mohammed Kudus, to North London, with Morgan Gibbs-White reportedly joining Kudus this summer.
Garnacho could find himself a home at Tottenham, as they may look to replace an ageing Heung-Min Son, but competition from the returning Manor Solomon and now permanent transfer Mathys Tel could prove challenging.
Champions League football will also be attractive for Garnacho, which may sway his interest away from Aston Villa, who only qualified for the Europa League.
Similarly to United, Spurs struggled last season, ending their Premier League campaign in 17th place. The two sides met in the Europa League final last year, with Spurs edging out United for an important 1-0 win.
Losing Garnacho to rivals Tottenham will lead to an important hole in the squad. But the reported £60 million fee United would gain in the transaction will allow Jason Wilcox and the recruitment team to reinvest the money into new players. And rebuild the future of this team.
