Matheus Cunha has addressed transfer speculation ahead of the summer transfer window after a report linked him to Manchester United.

The versatile forward had a solid season for Wolves last term, scoring 14 goals and assisting a further eight times.

United are expecting to be busy in the transfer window, with INEOS keen to strengthen the playing squad at Old Trafford.

The frontline will need additions, with Rasmus Højlund currently the only option as a no.9 at United. He will need support that Cunha could provide.

According to a new report from The Mirror, United have set their sights on the Wolves forward and club scouts closely monitored him closely last season.

The Reds are ready to offer Cunha double his current wages. At Wolves, he earns £60,000 a week and is valued at £60 million.

However, when speaking about the reported interest, Cunha has played down the rumours and reiterated his loyalty to Gary O’Neil’s side.

“Then we see that talk (about United interest), but I’m very happy at Wolves,” the Brazilian player told Globo Esporte, as per MEN.

“My focus is on resting and making the most of my time with my family. I’m very happy at Wolves. The focus now is on having better seasons and helping the club.”

Cunha joined Wolves last summer after initially spending the second half of the 2022/23 campaign on loan at the Premier League outfit.

He has made 56 appearances for the West Midlands outfit, scoring 16 goals and registering nine assists.
