Marcus Rashford INCLUDED in Manchester United travelling squad for Carabao Cup final after injury scare
Marcus Rashford has been included in the 22-man squad as Manchester United travel to London to face Newcastle United at Wembley in the Carabao Cup final.
Rashford, 25, has been United’s star player this season and one of the most in-form players in Europe since the World Cup.
He’s scored 24 goals but was unable to get on the scoresheet in United’s latest victory against Barcelona. He also came off in the 88th minute of that game and uploaded a worrying Instagram story later that night, with an injured emoji accompanying an image of the forward on the sidelines.
However, the English forward has travelled to the capital and it seems likely that he will fight through any potential pain to make an impact in the final.
Young midfielders Kobbie Mainoo and Zidane Iqbal seem to have missed out on being in the squad, with Scott McTominay recently returning to the fold. Marcel Sabitzer is also involved in the squad.
Anthony Martial was training individually at Carrington earlier this week but has not been included in the travelling squad. Antony Elanga is involved, as is Antony, who returned from injury against Barcelona to score the winning goal in the tie.
The full list of the confirmed members of the travelling squad, as originally reported by Manchester Evening News, can be viewed below:
Goalkeepers: De Gea, Heaton, Butland;
Defenders: Dalot, Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Martinez, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw, Malacia;
Midfielders: Casemiro, McTominay, Fred, Sabitzer, Fernandes;
Forwards: Elanga, Sancho, Garnacho, Antony, Rashford, Weghorst
