Marcus Rashford names Erik ten Hag’s best attribute as Manchester United manager

Marcus Rashford has labelled Erik ten Hag’s determination as his best attribute after an impressive start to life at Manchester United for the manager.
United are less than a week away from the possibility of ending their six-year trophy drought and Rashford has been key to that, scoring in every round of the Carabao Cup so far.
The English forward has scored 24 goals this season, and it is only February. He is thriving under the management of the Dutchman.
There have been certain keywords that the manager has used in his press conferences since joining the club, whether it be “standards”, “process, or the phrase “good is not good enough”; the main message is for his players to not slow down.
For Rashford, that’s been one of the overwhelming positives that the manager has brought to the club.
“I’d say his determination,” answered United’s no.10 when asked about Ten Hag’s best attribute in an interview with Stadium Astro. “He doesn’t rest on anything.
“So if we’re 3-0 up in a game, or 2-0 up, if we concede a goal then you know that he’s not going to be happy about it.”
United’s defensive displays have been much improved this season under the new manager. Whilst the importance of the likes of Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez coming in cannot be understated, Ten Hag has ensured that the attacking players realise the importance of being the first defenders.
“That starts the spread,” continued Rashford. “Because now all of a sudden, even for me and the forward lads, we’re desperate to want David [de Gea] and the defence to keep a clean sheet.
“If we’re winning 1-0 then it’s massively important and if we’re winning 4-0, in the past it was less important if the other team scored a goal, whereas now we’re constantly striving to be the best that we can be, and at our best we don’t concede goals.”
Ten Hag previously mentioned that the offensive players will get joy going forward if they’re able to commit themselves to the defensive side of the game. That has been showing this season.
Rashford and Ten Hag will be hoping to help lead United to their first trophy since 2017 but will also be focused on bypassing Barcelona in the Europa League in their next fixture.
