Manchester United are expected to be busy in the summer transfer window, with departures being key for Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

The Reds have had many troubles on the field this season and INEOS will be wanting to reshuffle the pack in the playing squad.

However, there will be a need to sell well this summer in order to maximise the potential for incomings at United.

Many players have been linked with potential exits this summer, and many of those are expected departures. Raphaël Varane and Anthony Martial will also be leaving at the end of their contracts.

However, there will also be some players who could leave Old Trafford as somewhat surprising options. Aaron Wan-Bissaka appears to be one of them.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the club is expected to consider offers for the right-back this summer.

Wan-Bissaka signed for United in 2019 and has one more year remaining on his current contract. United activated the trigger to extend his deal by 12 months in January.

The English defender is one of only two right-backs in the United squad. Alongside Diogo Dalot, they have been the only two fit full-backs in recent months.

This is why it would be a somewhat surprising decision to let either of them depart. However, perhaps INEOS believe that they can generate a solid transfer fee for the 26-year-old.

Central defence is also likely to be a position that has movement at Old Trafford, with uncertain futures around Jonny Evans, Victor Lindelöf and Harry Maguire, as well as Varane’s expected departure.

The aforementioned report added that Jarrad Branthwaite and Edmond Tapsoba are among the centre-backs being monitored by the club.
