Raphaël Varane sends Man United fans injury message after contract update
Raphaël Varane has sent Manchester United supporters a new injury message after Erik ten Hag spoke about the defender’s contract situation.
Varane, 31, is one of five centre-backs at United currently unavailable. Willy Kambwala, Lisandro Martínez, Victor Lindelöf and Jonny Evans are the others.
Harry Maguire has been partnered by midfielder Casemiro at the heart of defence in United’s last two games, and Ten Hag has confirmed that there will be no returning defenders for the clash against Burnley this weekend.
Instead, the squad will remain the same except for the return of Mason Mount.
Varane suffered an injury during the 4-3 defeat to Chelsea earlier this month.
“Resting well. Racing to get back ready to play in front of you again,” the French defender wrote on Instagram on Friday.

“Just wanted to check in and say I appreciate all your support, especially yesterday!”
During his pre-match press conference, Ten Hag confirmed that Varane is expected to be fit before the end of the season.
However, the manager added that there has been no progress in terms of the Frenchman signing a new deal at the club.
Varane’s current contract at Old Trafford runs out at the end of the season, and reports have stated that the 31-year-old is expected to depart after three years with the club.
