Manchester United’s transfer plans have been revealed following a £35 million bid for a Real Madrid star.
Manchester United are already preparing for the summer transfer window, despite the fact that they don’t know who will lead the club going into next season.
Michael Carrick appears to be making a good case for himself, with wins against Manchester City, Arsenal, Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur since his return to the Old Trafford dugout.
United face West Ham United on Tuesday evening in what could be a big test for Carrick against his former club. Perhaps a win against West Ham will give Omar Berrada enough to consider Carrick for the full-time role, providing he wasn’t already in the running.
No matter the head coach, Jason Wilcox will be busy in the summer, as he looks to bring in more quality to add to United’s Premier League hopes.
With just a few months left of the season, preparation would’ve already begun, and it appears United have their transfer plans ready.
United submit £35 million offer
United have been linked with Real Madrid through several transfers in the past – David Beckham and Ruud van Nistelrooy, to name but a few. But there may be another man about to be added to that list.
Fichajes have reported that United have submitted a £35 million offer for Madrid’s Eder Militao. The Brazilian picked up a tendon injury in December, but is expected to be back before the end of the month.
Madrid are said to be “considering” the offer, as United are “determined” to land an experienced central defender.
With Harry Maguire’s contract expiring at the end of the season, United could be without an experienced defender in their ranks, but Militao could fill that void.
United have an array of centre-back options, but Matthijs de Ligt has struggled with a back injury since December, leaving Lisandro Martínez and Maguire as the only regular seniors.
Ayden Heaven and Leny Yoro have both impressed, but need to develop before they can be considered starters, so an experienced defender appears at the top of United’s list.
United must target left-winger
Bryan Mbeumo started as the left-winger against Tottenham, with Matheus Cunha moving back to that role following the red card. Carrick knew he couldn’t rely on Cunha to track back in the same way Mbeumo could.
While both impressed against Spurs – as they have done throughout Carrick’s short tenure – they seem unnatural on that wing. Mbeumo prefers playing through the middle or from the right, while Cunha likes to tuck inside and leave the wing to the full-back.

Patrick Dorgu looked like a new signing on the left wing, but he is too young to start every game, as seen with his hamstring injury against Arsenal.
A new left-winger should be a top target for United, alongside a central defender and a defensive midfielder.
