Manchester United have rejected an approach for Jadon Sancho as Erik ten Hag sees his first bid for Rasmus Højlund turned down by Atalanta.

Manchester United are looking to change their attacking options this summer, with both incomings and outgoings expected this summer.

Erik ten Hag is very much looking to add a central attacking option to his squad this summer, and in order to do so may have to offload a winger to make space.

Jadon Sancho has had a mixed first two seasons at United. After his first season saw flashes of brilliance combined with a lack of starts, he started well under Ten Hag but had to take a leave of absence to regain physical and mental fitness during the World Cup break.

According to The Star, United have now rejected a loan approach from his former club Borussia Dortmund – though they remain open to sanctioning a permanent exit for Sancho if the price is right.

Previous reports have stated that a £45 million fee may be enough to convince United to part ways with a player they bought for £73m just two years ago.

Meanwhile, United have had an initial £30m offer for Atalanta striker Rasmus Højlund rejected, with the Italian side wanting just shy of £40m for the player.

Højlund has previously stated that he is a United supporter, and would no doubt be keen to make the move to Old Trafford.
