Manchester United ‘pushing’ midfield sales as Mason Mount medical scheduled

Manchester United are pushing to sell midfielders this window after an agreement was made for the transfer of Mason Mount from Chelsea.
Manchester United agreed a fee of £55 million plus £5m in ‘difficult’ add-ons with Chelsea for the transfer of Mason Mount on Thursday afternoon.
Mount is scheduled to undergo his medical on Monday morning as he arrives home from holiday, with Erik ten Hag keen to integrate the player into his squad as soon as possible.

With Mount no doubt coming in to push for a starting position, challenging both Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes, others are falling in the pecking order as Ten Hag looks to raise funds.
Rich Fay of the Manchester Evening News has explained that with Mount’s signing, United are now turning their attention to trying to sell a midfielder.
The club are prepared to sell Fred, who has received much interest from Fulham and is entering the final year of his current contract at Old Trafford.
It is also said that Donny van de Beek may be up for sale at the right price after another season of injuries and a lack of playing time saw the Dutchman fall to the bottom of the order.
Although Scott McTominay has been linked with a move away to Newcastle, it is not thought that the club are currently considering his sale this summer.
