Manchester United have shown their faith in Erik ten Hag after cancelling meetings with a series of agents.

Erik ten Hag‘s job security has been under intense scrutiny in recent months as Manchester United continue to ride a wave of inconsistent form across all competitions this season.

The club sit 6th in the Premier League table, jumping up from 8th after a win against Luton, but they also sit rock bottom of their Champions League group with two matches to go, needing wins away against Galatasaray and home against Bayern Munich to qualify for the group stages.

United, however, are said to continue showing faith in the Dutchman by cancelling meetings with agents who they believe are trying to propose clients to replace Ten Hag as Manchester United manager.

This is according to ESPN, who claim that one representative of a well-known manager who is currently out of work had a scheduled meeting cancelled because the club had concerns that the conversation would focus on the potential uncertainty surrounding Ten Hag’s job.

The report further explains that United’s bosses believe there has been progress at the club in recent weeks with United winning four of their last five Premier League fixtures.

Meanwhile, United have received contact for club castaway Jadon Sancho after the English winger was banned from all footballing activities for effectively branding Ten Hag as a liar online.

The Daily Mail explain that representatives from Italian club Juventus were in the UK last week and have made contact with United over the possibility of a loan move for Sancho in January.

However, there has been a sticking point in the negotiations, with United demanding that any club who takes Sancho on for the remainder of the season must pay 70% of his £300k-a-week wages, which is a steep request for a player who has not kicked a competitive ball since August.

With over six weeks still to go until the January window offers, United’s stance may change depending on how desperate they are to offload him.
