Manchester United return to Europa League action as they face Sevilla in the quarter-finals at Old Trafford.

Manchester United have already knocked out two Spanish oppositions during this year’s Europa League knockout stages, defeating Barcelona and Real Betis so far in the competition.

Erik ten Hag will no doubt look to field a strong opposition in the first of two legs against Sevilla, with David de Gea predicted to start in net as usual.

With a heavy schedule coming up, Ten Hag may opt to swap Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who started against Everton, for Diogo Dalot in the right-back position in order to keep legs fresh.

It’s safe to assume that Raphaël Varane will regain his place as the right-sided centre-back alongside Lisandro Martinez, with Tyrell Malacia making up the back four back due to Luke Shaw’s injury.

In midfield, it most likely will be a welcome site for Manchester United fans with Casemiro returning to the starting team after serving a four-match suspension in domestic competition for a red card in March.

With Ten Hag speaking highly of the Austrian, Marcel Sabitzer will most likely start alongside Casemiro in midfield for the Thursday night tie.

As Harry Maguire is predicted to be back on the bench, Bruno Fernandes is set to return to his captaincy duties in a more advanced role than he has previously played across the last few fixtures.

Marcus Rashford’s latest injury has certainly thrown a spanner in the works, with Jadon Sancho predicted to start on the left flank. It was noted against Everton that Sancho played well with Malacia behind him.

Upfront could see the reinstatement of French striker Anthony Martial to the starting line-up after returning from a long-term injury. Brazilian winger Antony will likely take up the final right-wing spot.

Predicted XI

De Gea, Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Malacia, Casemiro, Sabitzer, B.Fernandes, Antony, Martial, Sancho.
