Manchester United are through to the quarter-finals of the Europa League after beating Real Betis 1-0 on the night away from home, with Erik Ten Hag’s side boasting an aggregate score of 5-1.

United had a shaky start giving up opportunities for Real Betis who started the game well and applied pressure with the home support pushing them on, and you could say Ten Hag’s men were lucky to go into the break with the scores still level.

The Spanish side made it hard work for United but eventually, the Reds got the breakthrough via Marcus Rashford who struck home from range.

It was a job well done for United in the end, who are in the hat for the quarter-final draw tomorrow.

UtdDistrict’s player ratings for the game:

David De Gea – 7/10

Started off shakily with some poor distribution, however, made some really important saves to keep the scores level at half-time. Made a good save in the second half too. Good performance.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 6/10

Did well at times but was poor in possession and got caught out at times, an average performance in the end.

Harry Maguire – 6.5/10

Decent performance from the Captain, made a good block in the first half and carried the ball well into the Betis half especially after the interval.

Lisandro Martinez – 7/10

Solid performance as usual, another day at the office for the Argentinian.

Tyrell Malacia – 6/10

Did well going forward but was also caught out a few times defensively with Betis finding good positions on his side on a few occasions. Second half was a bit better defensively compared to the first half.

Casemiro – 6/10

Standard performance from the Brazilian, didn’t do anything special but didn’t do much wrong either.

Fred – 5.5/10

He was wasteful especially in the first half, giving the ball away far too often, not his best night but he was okay.

Bruno Fernandes – 6/10

Not his best performance, seems like the fixtures are getting to him having played by far the most minutes at United this season. Went long with his passing way too often, losing us control of the game, but also created a few chances like he always does.

Facundo Pellistri – 7/10

Looked lively as he always does and was unlucky on a couple of occasions, hitting the post at the end of the first half. Good for him personally to get a start and some deserved minutes under his belt.

Wout Weghorst – 6/10

Didn’t have much service but linked up well at times and was inches away from scoring at the end of the first half.

Marcus Rashford – 6.5/10

Wasn’t great in the first half and seemed to try and score alone, but came into it in the second half, missing two big chances before scoring a brilliant goal from range to give United the lead.

Substitutions

Jadon Sancho – 6/10

Had some decent actions and always looked to create. Nice cameo.

Marcel Sabitzer – 6/10

Almost scored after coming on, good to get some minutes after returning from injury.

Anthony Elanga – 6/10

Wasn’t too effective and didn’t have much opportunity to show his quality, seemed like he wanted to score himself.

Diogo Dalot – 6/10

Didn’t do much after coming on, was only for a short period of time.
