Bruno Fernandes put in a fantastic performance as Manchester United scored twice to defeat Everton at Old Trafford in the Premier League.

Despite not being involved in either goal, Bruno Fernandes once again played a fantastic fixture in midfield for Manchester United.

He played in a deeper role against Everton, which required more dictating of the fixture, rather than creating or scoring goals himself.

Fernandes has excelled in this deeper role over the last few games and Erik ten Hag has pointed out that his recent performances are not being recognised by many.

“I think he was brilliant,” he explained to BT Sport. “But I think he has already been playing brilliantly over many games in a deeper role.

“Not everyone it recognising it, but even last week against Newcastle he was playing very well.

This week against Brentford he played really well, and today, a brilliant game.

“He was definitely one, if not the best player on the pitch [vs Everton], but I think we had more [performances from him that] were on a quite high level.”

Despite not having the armband today due to Harry Maguire‘s presence in the back line, Bruno Fernandes led the United team with yet another commanding performance.

He has seemingly redeemed himself after many criticised his character and demeanour during the dreadful loss to Liverpool last month.

Fernandes has proved himself to be vital again and again in Ten Hag’s teams playing in multiple roles across the midfield and front line.

After signing for Utd four years ago, he has now no doubt, been one of the best purchases in the last decade for the club.
