Marcus Rashford went off injured as Manchester United defeated Everton in the Premier League.

Manchester United made it two wins in two in the Premier League as they defeated Everton by two goals following the win over Brentford in midweek.

It was Scott McTominay and Anthony Martial who grabbed the goals to secure three points for Erik ten Hag – however, one negative point was Marcus Rashford‘s substitution.

Marcus Rashford was spotted limping down the tunnel with 10 minutes left to play after he was substituted for Wout Weghorst.

Erik ten Hag spoke to BT Sport after the game confirming that he ‘doesn’t look well’.

Ten Hag also blasted the current schedule saying that Rashford’s injury is down to the sheer number of games the club has had to play.

“We have to wait — it doesn’t look well. Once again, it is due to the schedule; it can’t be that you play three games in six days. We have to protect our players,” he said at full-time.

“Everyone wants the best players on the pitch and the better show, but you need the best players for that.”

Ten Hag further talked about the schedule ahead of the game, explaining that it was also the reason for his XI changes.

“The thinking is we have the most crazy schedule of all the Premier League teams, we have three games to cover in six days, which is not right, but we have to deal with it,” he explained when asked why Harry Maguire started.
