Manchester United begin ‘official contact’ to sell outcast to Champions League club
It has been reported that ‘official contacts’ have begun with a Champions League club as Manchester United look to start selling players.
INEOS are planning to offload players considered to be on the fringes of Erik ten Hag’s squad this summer as United seeks new funds for additional signings in the coming months.
The Reds seek to recruit two centre-backs this summer. Raphaël Varane has already announced his departure from Old Trafford when his contract expires at the end of June.

Victor Lindelöf has been another defender linked with a move away from the club he signed for in the summer of 2017 under Jose Mourinho.
The defender started just 14 Premier League games last term and is clearly not in the plans going forward at Old Trafford.
Now, it is rumoured that Mourinho wants to reunite with the Swede at his new club, Fenerbahçe, and those reports are starting to heat up.
According to credible journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, official contact has been made for the Turkish side to sign Lindelöf this summer.
Prior reports have suggested that Mourinho’s side will test United’s resolve with an opening bid of around £7 million.
It remains to be seen whether Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s team would reject such an offer or simply be happy to deduct the defender’s wages from the bill.
Sales are set to be very important for how important United’s summer transfer window is, with the Reds walking a financial tightrope.
They are moving forward with multiple targets, such as Joshua Zirkzee and Jarrad Branthwaite, but have a limited budget that needs bolstering with sales.
Meanwhile, Fenerbahçe will likely be keen to secure a deal as they prepare for the Champions League qualification rounds, which take place at the end of next month.
