Manchester United move is “appealing” to unbelievable Championship star, transfer is considered “must-have”
Manchester United are set to have a busy summer window and are already planning potential signings for Ruben Amorim’s squad.
Ruben Amorim identified the need for reinforcements in his Manchester United squad ahead of the January transfer window, with wingback being the top priority due to underwhelming performances from current options like Diogo Dalot.
To address this issue, United secured the signing of Patrick Dorgu for a reported £25 million, although the young wide player made his debut at right wingback against Leicester City.
The club also bolstered its defence with the addition of left-sided centre-back Ayden Heaven, a move made even more significant following Lisandro Martínez’s ACL injury.
Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford, Tyrell Malacia and Antony have departed on loan. Additionally, several youth players have been sent out on loan.
United fans are expecting several major summer signings once the season ends, with the club also set to try and sign exciting up-and-coming stars like they have been doing in recent windows.
United move is appealing to Rigg
Diego Leon will make the move to the club in the summer and join the likes of Chido Obi Martin and Sekou Kone as talented signings for the future.
Another talent that United have been keeping a close eye on his Sunderland starlet Chris Rigg, who is regarded as one of the best young players in the Championship since Jude Bellingham.
Rigg has been linked closely with several big clubs, including United, over the last year and could finally be on the move this next transfer window.
Transfer insider Graeme Bailey has told UnitedInFocus that the Reds are “determined” to sign Rigg as a key target this summer and that club scouts see the unbelievable midfielder as a “must-have” signing.
Bailey also added that while all of the major Premier League clubs are interested, a move to Old Trafford is “appealing” to Rigg, who admires their pursuit of him.
United must attack Championship market
United have made so many transfers in recent years but failed to tackle two major markets as much as they should have.
Premier League proven players can be extremely useful for top level clubs, with some players able to step up their game when moving to a bigger club. We’ve seen this at many of United’s competitors.
Meanwhile, the Reds have also barely used the Championship in the transfer market, which is a crying shame considering the amount of talent within England’s second division.
Signing Rigg would be a brilliant display of intent, with the teenager being one of the most highly rated players in the Championship this season.

There are many top players in the Premier League who have been snatched from the second division, with the most recent example being Morgan Rogers at Aston Villa.
United’s transfer strategy seems to be improving and attacking this market would only further that along.
