Manchester United launch “official offer” for 28-goal “world-class” striker, he is keen to join Rúben Amorim

According to reports from Turkey, Manchester United have submitted an official offer to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli this summer amid Rúben Amorim’s needs for a new striker.

Transfer rumours continue to swirl around Victor Osimhen, with Manchester United reportedly ready to table a swap deal involving Alejandro Garnacho to sign the Nigerian striker from Napoli.

The Galatasaray loanee has emerged as a key target for the Red Devils as Ruben Amorim plans a summer rebuild.

United, who are far from the title race in the Premier League this season, want to enter the next season with an ambitious squad.

Multiple reports have stated that Rúben Amorim’s team want to sign Victor Osimhen, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray from Serie A club Napoli. The Red Devils reportedly want to knock on Napoli’s door with a swap plus cash offer for the 26-year-old Nigerian forward.

Garnacho’s influence in Osimhen transfer apparent

With reports stating that United are open to using Garnacho to reach an agreement on a swap deal for Osimhen, the English team are said to believe the 20-year-old winger will play a crucial role in this transfer.

Meanwhile, it should also be noted that the Nigerian striker himself is reportedly keen on playing for Manchester United. Turkish journalist Arda Ozkurt has claimed that United have already tabled an official offer for the player, with Arsenal doing the same.

Osimhen has also received offers from Saudi Arabia. However, the player’s priority is seemingly to play in the Premier League. According to some reports, the star forward is solely focused on going to England. This factor will make the bargaining process easier for Manchester United.

On the other hand, world giants such as Arsenal, Barcelona, PSG and Juventus are among the clubs that have Osimhen on their radar, just like Manchester United.

Juventus have been credited with significant interest in the player over the last few months, but a report from JuveFC has confirmed that Osimhen has rejected their offer as he wants to play in the Premier League.

It was noted that Osimhen’s contract contains a release clause equal to £63 million. However, this clause is only valid for teams outside of Italy, which would have made Juventus’ ambitions to sign the striker much harder regardless of his view on the transfer.

It has been reported many times that United are planning a significant change in their attacking line in the summer transfer window. Osimhen is their most important target due to the possible departures of Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Højlund.

Osimhen has played in 32 official matches for Galatasaray this season, scoring 28 goals and producing five assists. His name came up frequently, especially after Jose Mourinho described him as a “world-class striker” in December 2023.

Amorim’s continuing his overhaul at Old Trafford

Ruben Amorim is expected to part ways with at least ten players, including Casemiro, as part of his team restructuring plan. For this reason, high spending is expected for the next transfer window. However, it should also be noted that United are under profit and sustainability regulations.

On the other hand, Antony, who was loaned from Manchester United to La Liga representative Real Betis, received praise from technical director Manuel Pellegrini.

“Antony is a very special player,” the Betis boss recently stated. “He has more focused on finishing plays well, making good crosses, looking for shots on goal, and also being very involved in the team’s collective functioning.”

Manchester United also added Morten Hjulmand, who plays for Sporting Lisbon, to the transfer list. Official action is expected to be taken in the summer for the Danish player, who is considered a midfielder suitable for Amorim’s system.
