Manchester United have enquired about an Italian club’s interest about their star winger to try and soften a deal for one of Europe’s hottest strikers.
Manchester United have been in desperate need of a striker for this 2024/25 Premier League campaign, with goalscoring being very hard to come by for The Red Devils.
In order for history to not repeat itself next season, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his team will more than likely be venturing into the attacking departments for this upcoming summer transfer window.
As United have got a lot of ‘problem areas’ to try and cover over the course of the next few months, it is of no surprise that there could be a few big name departures in order to free up some money for this summers incomings.
One of the names being rumoured with an exit is Alejandro Garnacho, who has fell victim to a pretty difficult season, and could now lose his place under Ruben Amorim for good.
Quite the turn for the Argentine, who not long ago was dubbed as “underrated” after United’s win against Real Sociedad in March.
United ask Napoli about their Garnacho interest
After the recent loss of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to Paris Saint-Germain, Napoli have a reported interest in Garnacho that United aim to seek early clarity on, according to GiveMeSport.
If Antonio Conte’s side are to deal with The Red Devils for a second summer in a row, this could open a possibility for the red-hot Victor Osimhen to come the other way.
The 26-year-old Nigerian international has been rumoured with a permanent move away from Napoli for the past couple of seasons, but has failed to do so as of yet.
This has led to the Napoli outcast joining Galatasaray on a season long loan, where he has scored 26 goals and assisted five in only 30 games.
It is expected that Amorim’s side will ramp their interest up if they qualify for the Champions League, which now only looks like a possibility through winning the Europa League.
How could this swap affect Amorim’s side?
If this swap deal is to come to fruition, then it could have a lot of implications for Amorim’s side.
Hopefully for United, one of these implications is that it would help drastically with their goalscoring mishaps. However, it could leave them with quite the predicament on the wings.

With Marcus Rashford, Antony, and Jadon Sancho all potentially leaving the Reds this summer, losing Garnacho as well could leave Amorim with only one senior winger at his disposal, Amad – although it’s easy to argue that he is the best of the lot.
Now this is an area that will definitely be addressed in the upcoming transfer window, but if United are unable to qualify for any European competitions, it could lead them to struggle to attract the big names they would desire.
