Manchester United handed favoured referee for Nottingham Forest FA Cup tie
Manchester United have had the referees for Wednesday’s FA Cup tie against Nottingham Forest confirmed by the FA.
Manchester United will take on Nottingham Forest in round five of the 2024 FA Cup tournament, with only 16 teams now left in the competition.
Erik ten Hag‘s men have defeated Wigan Athletic 2-0 and Newport County 4-2 to qualify for the round of 16, with the winners moving into the competition’s quarter-finals.

The FA recently confirmed who will officiate the tie at the City Ground, with United having played all three of their games in the competition so far away from Old Trafford.
Match Referee
Chris Kavanagh will be the man with the whistle at the City Ground on Wednesday evening. The experienced referee has taken charge of two United games this season: A 1-0 loss against Crystal Palace and a 2-1 win over Chelsea, both at Old Trafford.
Kavanagh was a friend to United in the FA Cup last season, as he was the man who oversaw United’s 3-1 win over Fulham, where he sent off two players and manager Marco Silva within the space of two minutes to help United claw a win after initially losing 1-0.
Assistant Referees
Neil Davies and Akil Howson will be flanking Kavanagh on Wednesday as the two act as linesmen for the tie.
Video Assistant Referees (VAR)
The lead operator in the VAR room will be Darren Bond, with Daniel Robathan as his assistant on the screens and Michael Salisbury as support VAR.
Fourth Official
The man in between Erik ten Hag and Nuno Espírito Santo will be David Webb.
