Manchester United are discussing the possibility of engaging in a player-swap deal with Bayern Munich this summer.

Manchester United are screaming out for a second midfield signing this transfer window after securing Mason Mount from Chelsea for a £55 million fee.

Erik ten Hag‘s midfield has looked light and brittle so far this Premier League season, and as deadline day draws ever closer, United are assessing their options for upgrades.

Scott McTominay, despite being a core part of previous United squads, seems out of favour this summer – Gary Neville labelled the midfielder as unwanted last week.

According to Bayern Munich journalist Christian Falk, United have discussed the possibility of McTominay joining the German club, who are interested in the player. on loan for the coming season.

This could be paired with Dutch midfielder Ryan Gravenberch heading in the other direction, with both players on one-year loan deals.

With the final days of the window well and truly underway, this deal could be the easiest for both parties.

Players departing their squads in the final moments of the window is often complicated as it leaves the clubs with little time to find a replacement, but with Bayern and United trading in players, this resolves their problem.
