Manchester United are firmly getting to grips with their summer transfer targets as they sent more scouts to watch Benfica’s promising duo.

If reports are to be believed, INEOS have already identified which areas of the pitch Manchester United are in most need of as they prepare for their first summer in charge of Erik ten Hag‘s sporting operations.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his team feel that the club need a striker, centre-back, and right-back, with the added possibility of a midfielder should Casemiro leave this summer.

In light of this, scouts from the club have been sent to watch across Europe for some of the finest talent out there, and according to a report from the Mirror, they have sent scouts to Benfica all season.

This has been to keep an eye on both Joao Neves and Antonio Silva, who are of clear interest to United.

it is said that the club have had scouts in attendance for “the majority of Benfica’s matches” to watch the duo pay, but with the club’s budget this summer seemingly stretched fairly thin, it will be hard to secure both.

According to multiple outlets, 19-year-old midfielder Neves has a realise clause of around £102 million in his contract, which is expected to rise even further should he sign a new deal. 20-year-old central defender Silva is said to be available for around £85 million this summer.

Casemiro has been subject to significant reported interest from Saudi Arabia this year. With the player on a current decline in overall performance, it may be an ideal time for INEOS to cash in and bring in a new, younger midfielder.
