Manchester United could be set for a transfer battle with another Premier League side for Harry Kane if he decides to leave Bayern Munich.
Manchester United have been linked to Harry Kane for several years now, with a move looking most likely when he left Tottenham Hotspur for Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023.
Despite now being 32 years old, Kane has continued to improve on his ridiculous goal-scoring numbers, with 18 goals in 10 matches for the German giants this campaign.
With Benjamin Šeško now at the club, Jason Wilcox may not be desperate on a move for the England captain, but Kane’s ability is difficult to ignore if he becomes available.
Joshua Zirkzee appears to be set for a move away from Old Trafford – possibly in the January transfer window – and Rasmus Hojlund could stay in Napoli next season after an impressive start to the campaign back in Italy.
United have a good crop of young strikers coming through, but Rúben Amorim may favour another experienced centre forward if the Red Devils continue to convert their high expected goals numbers.
United see Kane as “key” to rebuild
A recent report from Team Talk has said that United view Kane as “a key piece in their rebuilding project” if they can convince the England international to make the switch to Old Trafford next summer.
However, Tottenham Hotspur are winning the race for their former striker and are ready to “break the bank” to bring Kane back to North London. The move would be seen as a statement of intent from the Lewis family and a showing have strong support for Thomas Frank.
United are looking to rival Spurs for Kane, but will need to improve their Premier League position if they are to seriously challenge for Kane. He is nearing the end of his career and wants to compete for silverware every season before retiring.
The report continues to say that Bayern Munich understand Kane will want to return to England before the end of his career, and the summer transfer window could be crucial for his future.
United must prioritise other positions
While Kane would be a great addition to United’s frontline, Wilcox has already spent over £200 million on their attackers under Amorim despite clear issues elsewhere on the pitch.

Casemiro looks set to leave the club at the end of the season, and Manuel Ugarte has struggled since his move to Old Trafford. United must look to sign a defensive midfielder in the January transfer window, with an eye for another in the summer.
Harry Maguire could also be leaving United next summer – when his contract expires – and Amorim’s defence are still struggling to adapt to the formation.
Signing a new centre-back could shore up the backline, while helping United progress the ball up the pitch and get the creative players on the ball more often.
