“Absolutely world-class” Manchester United star will “probably” leave this summer, journalist explains
Journalist Andy Mitten has explained that he thinks Raphaël Varane will leave Manchester United this summer and that there will be “no protest”.
Raphaël Varane‘s time at Manchester United has not been what many fans would have hoped when he signed from Real Madrid in the 2021 summer transfer window.
Varane signed the same season that Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho joined under Ole Gunnar Solskjær, and the Old Trafford club gave the Frenchman an iconic unveiling at the ground on the opening day of the Premier League season.

However, three seasons on, Varane has missed 45 games for club and country since that day, and the man they signed for £27 million is set to depart from United for free in the summer.
His contract is due to expire next month and although United have an option to automatically extend it by a further year, they have chosen not to do so due to the high wage bill.
No complaints
Discussing Varane’s potential future, well-known journalist Andy Mitten has explained that the 31-year-old will “probably” leave this summer and that there won’t be many complaints if so, despite the fact that he is “absolutely world-class”.
“Varane will probably leave, and I don’t think there’ll be many protests if he does,” Mitten told The Athletic.
“An absolutely world-class player — mainly for Real Madrid, only occasionally for Manchester United, but he still leaves a hole.
“We are so far from the days of Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand when Gerard Pique couldn’t get a look in.”
