Manchester United are looking to generate funds from sales this summer as the club look to secure fresh signings in the 2024 summer transfer market.

INEOS is aiming to offload as many fringe and outcast players as possible this summer, with Manchester United needing to raise significant funds for the 2024 transfer market.

Mason Greenwood and Jadon Sancho are almost certain to leave following their exiles from the club last season, and other players like Scott McTominay and Victor Lindelöf could also depart.

Additionally, several other players who have been sidelined from the squad are expected to generate transfer funds, and a new update has subsequently formed surrounding Facundo Pellistri.

Pellistri’s time at United has not been what he would have hoped. The player has departed on multiple loans and never really had his chance to impress at United.

Appearances off the bench have left fans feeling excited about the youngster, but his real talents have been more evident with Uruguay, with Pellistri impressing during the 2024 Copa America championships.

Paulo Pezzolano, manager of La Liga club Real Valladolid CF, has been raving about Pellistri and has confirmed that he would love to sign him if possible.

“Having Pellistri for us would be spectacular, without a doubt, because of how he is growing and what he is showing,” Pezzolano said on Carve Deportiva Radio, as per El Observador. “He feels very comfortable with the way he plays, and it could benefit him to be with us.”

However, Pezzolano also stated that no contact has been made because of Pellistri’s current commitments across the Atlantic but wishes him all the best. Pezzolano himself is from Uruguay, so will take a special interest in Pelistri’s performances.

“I haven’t called him yet because there are certain moments. Today I want him to do excellently and I don’t want to divert attention. I want him 100% there and for him to lift the Cup with our national team, which would be the most important thing,” he added.

Pellistri’s Uruguay will face Colombia in the semi-finals of the competition, while fellow United starlet Alejandro Garnacho and centre-back Lisanadro Martinez are on the other side of the draw.

The pair will face Canada in the other semi-final. The Copa America finale will then kick off at 01:00 BST on Monday, 15 July.
