Star is more likely to reject Manchester United to join Arsenal, says David Ornstein
David Ornstein has admitted that he feels that one of Manchester United’s targets is more likely to reject them in favour of a move to Arsenal this summer.
Manchester United are looking to sign a new centre-forward this summer to compete with and help develop star youngster Rasmus Højlund while adding a further goal threat to their front line.
With Anthony Martial departing the club, Højlund has become the only recognised striker in Erik ten Hag‘s squad. New blood is needed urgently if the team is to improve its goalscoring in the coming campaign.

Although Højlund netted 16 goals during his debut season at Old Trafford, relying on just one striker for an entire 55-60-game campaign is unsustainable. With this in mind, it has been claimed that United are looking at RB Leipzig frontman Benjamin Šeško this summer.
United were also closely linked to Šeško last summer, but a move never materialised. Although they are once again tracking the Slovenian, transfer specialist David Ornstein has explained that Šeško is more likely to sign for Arsenal this summer.
“He’s a high performer, and he was attracting interest when he was at Salzburg,” Ornstein said on The Athletic FC Podcast.
“We come to the modern day, and I’ve spoken before about how highly Arsenal think of him. He’s pretty much top or very prominent on their list of candidates.
“Things aren’t actually happening with him just yet; there are lots of conversations, and his agent has been very active on social media.
“Manchester United, it’s more complicated there because of the managerial situation, financial situation, football situation. The feeling is that a club like Arsenal are perhaps ahead of them at this time because they’re very settled, very competitive, and it’s a good time to be involved at Arsenal.”
United is going through a heavy transitional period this summer. New owners, INEOS, are assessing what must be done to improve the squad after a poor season. Beyond this, multiple new faces high up in the club will need time to gel, which can cause teething problems.
