Man Utd starlet delivers ruthless 4-word message after FA Youth Cup win, Jason Wilcox is paying close attention
One Manchester United starlet delivered a ruthless four-word message after their FA Youth Cup win this week, with Jason Wilcox paying close attention.
Manchester United’s under-18s won three trophies last season but were unfortunately knocked out of the FA Youth Cup in the early stages.
Adam Lawrence’s side are continuing their dominance in the league this season, with 10 wins out of 10, but also clearly want to progress in the historic competition and got off to a great start.
Their opening clash against Coventry City started extremely well and within 13 minutes they were 3-0 up through goals from Gabriele Biancheri and Chido Obi-Martin.
Biancheri netted a first-half brace before setting up the former Arsenal youth star to put the young Reds in a commanding position.
Both players each found another goal in the second half to give United a 5-0 victory, with the Welsh forward scoring a hat-trick even though he missed a penalty in the second half.
It has been an excellent season for Biancheri, who has scored 16 goals in 17 appearances so far this term. He has only started nine games as well.
United’s U18s manager has detailed a message Biancheri said after the FA Youth Cup win that shows his ruthless striker’s mentality that will be needed if he reaches the top level.
Asked by club media about the teenager’s hat-trick, Lawrence said: “Yeah, the first thing he said to me when I was tapping his hand at the end of the game was, ‘I should’ve scored six.’ So yeah, he felt he could’ve had more.
“Obviously, Gabe started off the left but we did a bit of work with him when we had possession of the ball.
“Harry Amass playing higher on that side with Gabe playing closer to Chido. Obviously they’re both number nines so it was trying to find a way where they’re both in the team but trying to utilise both of their qualities.
“I think their understanding between each other and the way they played with one another was really good.”
Prior reports from MailSport have claimed that United’s technical director, Jason Wilcox, has been closely monitoring Biancheri’s development since he joined the club.
Wilcox was present when the striker netted twice against Everton U18s at the end of last season.
It was explained that the 18-year-old’s impressive performances both in training and matches have caught the attention of coaches and scouts, with the report highlighting that many are “salivating” at his potential.
