Louis Saha has explained that INEOS must add a fourth player to their untouchables list at Manchester United before the summer transfer window opens.

Reports from last month suggested that INEOS are open to selling almost every single player from Erik ten Hag‘s Manchester United squad this summer, with only three players listed as untouchable at Old Trafford.

Alejandro Garnacho, Rasmus Højlund, and Kobbie Mainoo have been the brightest sparks during a dark season at the club and are the three players INEOS wants to shape the club’s future around—the others, it seems, can leave at the right price.

Bruno Fernandes has been one of the few stars at United this season who has shown any sort of consistency, captaining the club and leading the way in assists, having scored 15 goals and providing 12 assists in 47 games.

Although there have been rumours that Fernandes could leave should he ask and if the right bid comes in, Louis Saha thinks that the Portuguese international should be considered as another untouchable at Old Trafford.

“Yes. At this moment in time, he’s a key player, he’s the captain of the club and he provides the most chances in a game for the team,” Saha told BetFred. “Without him, they couldn’t create, and they couldn’t win.

“If he’s not clarifying his future, then he’s obviously thinking things over and is doubtful about what the club has to offer. He will want guarantees about what the club are planning going forward. He’s been at the club for a while and has been targeted by the critics despite being protected by Manchester United.

“He may believe that he doesn’t get the recognition that he deserves, so the board needs to assess what can be done to get this club back to the top because Bruno is the only player that has been consistent over the last few years.

“I can understand if Bruno wants to be consistently playing in the Champions League and fighting for honours.”
