Alejandro Garnacho picks the “finest moment” of his Manchester United career, fans will smile
Alejandro Garnacho has picked out the one moment he believes has been his “finest” during his Manchester United career to date.
Alejandro Garnacho has been a shining light during what has been a dark season under Erik ten Hag across 2023/24.
Alongside Kobbie Mainoo, Garnacho has helped pull Manchester United out of the mud on many occasions, scoring nine goals and providing five assists during his first full season as a starting winger.

Beyond this, he has been the club’s most consistent forward, with Antony, Marcus Rashford, and Rasmus Højlund failing to ultimately live up to expectations across the campaign.
Garnacho, who turns 20 in July, has been reflecting with club media on his career so far at United, picking out some of his favourite moments.
Garnacho’s finest moment
Speaking with the club, Garnachow was shown a clip of him making his debut, which was just over two years ago
“I’ve had some nice moments with the club, but I’m never going to forget this one, and for me, it will always be the most important,” he explained in response to the video.
“The day I made my debut, the first day that I was given my opportunity and I will always be grateful to the manager and to the club. And for me, it was the finest moment of my career.”
The remainder of Garnacho’s debut will surely make fans smile. Speaking further, he then detailed how moving to Manchester at the age of 16 was hard as he had to leave his family behind, and the impact of COVID lockdowns in the United Kingdom only added to this.
“I moved to Manchester when I was 16. It was very tough to leave all my family behind and all my everyday life. But I think it was an important step for me and for my career. It was also a bit difficult as a result of lockdown.”
The FA Youth Cup final
The same season he made his debut, Garnacho also drove the club to victory during the iconic FA Youth Cup, where he scored seven goals and provided three assists in just six games – including a brace in the final, held at Old Trafford.
“Two years have gone by, but when I watch the clips, I can remember it like it was yesterday,” he explained. “It was there at Old Trafford, where we play every weekend. It’s something I will never forget, it will always stick with me.”
Coming back after COVID, Garnacho took his stride in the first team, and he commented on how incredible it is to have fans singing his name at Old Trafford.
“Well, it’s incredible, isn’t it?” Garnacho asked while he was rewatching footage and reflecting on his journey. “I always used to go to the match. I loved watching football with my father, so to hear an entire stadium singing your name at a club like Manchester United, it doesn’t seem like it’s real!
“A club like Manchester United, which is so rich in history, and for me one of the biggest ever and with all the fantastic players they’ve had over the years, it’s a dream come true for me to play here.”
