Manchester United confirm Erik ten Hag XI vs Barnsley as Manuel Ugarte decision made

Manuel Ugarte is starting as Manchester United welcome Barnsley to Old Trafford in the Carabao Cup.

After consecutive defeats to Brighton and Liverpool, Manchester United responded with a 3-0 victory over Southampton at St. Mary’s.

The match moved quickly, and after 30 minutes, Diogo Dalot conceded a penalty, only for André Onana to make a vital save, shifting the momentum.

Moments later, Matthijs de Ligt headed in a Bruno Fernandes cross for his first United goal, followed by Marcus Rashford’s curling effort before half-time to double the lead. Alejandro Garnacho added the final touch in stoppage time with a powerful strike, securing the win.

United now turn their focus to the Carabao Cup, where they’ll face League One side Barnsley at Old Trafford in the third round—a competition Erik ten Hag won in 2023.
