Man United reminded about two exciting starlets after stellar international break displays – “no issues” about joining
Manchester United have been reminded about two exciting starlets after their stellar international break displays this week.
Despite the disappointing start to the new Premier League campaign, United had an impressive summer transfer window.
Erik ten Hag’s squad was bolstered by the signings of Leny Yoro, Joshua Zirkzee, Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui and Manuel Ugarte.
However, the new-look leadership team at Old Trafford has also done some excellent business for the Academy.
Sekou Kone, who is 18 years old, joins the club as an exciting midfield talent who could make his way into the first team later this year.
Meanwhile, agreements have been made to sign Samuel Lusale and Chido Obi-Martin on initial scholarship deals from Crystal Palace and Arsenal, respectively.
Obi-Martin is a dangerous striker, while Lusale is a dynamic winger. For now, however, neither player is playing club football as they await the completion of their United moves.
Obi-Martin and Lusale shine on international duty
The lack of club football to start the season meant that this international break provided the teenage pairing with a great opportunity to get back into competitive action for their nations.
Lusale, who represents Slovakia’s under-18s side, played against Wales’ youth team this week. He scored and assisted to put his side 2-0 up before they eventually lost 3-2.
It looked to be a solid display from the 17-year-old talent, who was extremely sharp on the dribble to create his goal and assist from the left side.
Meanwhile, Obi-Martin also excelled for Denmark’s under-18s side this week during a 5-3 win over Norway.
The 16-year-old striker bagged a late goal in that victory to continue his impressive scoring form after netting 32 for Arsenal’s under-18s last term.
No issues about Obi-Martin and Lusale deals
United fans will be excited to see the talented pair get started at the club soon, but no announcements have been made yet.
This is because the signings are being assessed through the Premier League ratification process – a common occurrence when youth players move between category one clubs.
It has recently been explained by Academy Scoop that there are no issues with either of the moves and that their deals to join United are “completely sealed”.
