Man United release Jadon Sancho statement after returning to training, surprise point noticed
Manchester United confirmed that Jadon Sancho returned to training at Carrington last week after his loan at Borussia Dortmund.
Sancho, 24, departed United in January last season after being exiled from Erik ten Hag’s team due to a social media post.
The winger impressed for Dortmund as he reached the Champions League final, but it seemed almost certain that he would leave Old Trafford permanently this summer.
However, he returned to pre-season training this week. It was previously thought that he would train individually until a transfer was complete but the club confirmed that he joined team training on Thursday.
“A group of senior players including the likes of Andre Onana, Casemiro, Mason Mount and Marcus Rashford all returned to base on Monday, ready to get to work,” the club report began.
“Jadon Sancho returned for testing on Wednesday following his loan spell at Borussia Dortmund during the second half of last season. The 24-year-old forward then trained with the group on Thursday.”
It has since been confirmed by Manchester World that Sancho held a positive meeting with Ten Hag this week, and they both agreed to draw a line on their disagreement and move on.
The 24-year-old will not be available for the opening pre-season fixture against Rosenborg but is in contention for all other pre-season matches in the coming weeks.
This is a very interesting development. With these reports coming out, it now seems entirely plausible that Sancho could stay at the club.
He was pictured in team training photographs uploaded on Friday evening. The winger joined United in the summer of 2021 and has made 82 appearances for the club.
