Man United fans slam “classless” player for embarrassing moment vs Coventry City

Manchester United won their FA Cup semi-final clash against Coventry City, but fans were not happy with the actions of one “classless” player.

The Reds were in cruise control after 60 minutes at Wembley. Goals from Scott McTominay, Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes had United 3-0 up and looking certain for a spot in the final.

Yet, what can only be described as a collapse from Erik ten Hag’s men followed. They conceded three goals in 24 minutes and were forced to play extra time against the Championship outfit.

Then, an offside decision saved United in the 121st minute of the game when Coventry scored, but it was later disallowed by VAR before Ten Hag’s side won the game on penalties.

“Had Haji cut his toenails, we wouldn’t have been talking about penalties,” said Coventry boss Mark Robins after the game.

It was perhaps one of the most deflating ways for a club to reach an FA Cup final. Rasmus Højlund celebrated after his winning penalty and turned around to see none of his teammates running to celebrate with him.

Instead, several United men–led by Maguire–instantly turned to consol the Coventry players, who were inches away from creating one of the most iconic comebacks in FA Cup history.

However, many noticed that Antony had a different approach, with the Brazilian instead deciding to run in front of his opposition with his hands to his ears, goading them.

The winger was brought on when the game was 3-0 and played a key part in Coventry’s second goal before they forced the game into extra time.

So far this season, Antony has two goals and two assists. His performances have been extremely underwhelming, and fans were not happy with his “classless” reaction after the FA Cup win.

One supporter wrote: “He’s classless. Embarrassing from him.

“Look at the difference between him and Maguire, Maguire went over and shook their hands, that’s class,” another detailed.

A third concluded: “That was embarrassing from him. He can only do it if he put in a MOTM performance.”
