Rasmus Højlund’s teammate sends Man United transfer message following January interest
Rasmus Højlund’s international teammate Morten Hjulmand has sent Manchester United a transfer message following their January interest.
Morten Hjulmand was linked a number of times with Manchester United in the January transfer window, with at one point the media claiming that he wanted the move.
A personal friend of both Rasmus Højlund and Christian Eriksen through their game time with the Denmark national team, Hjulmand has since opened up about where he feels at home.

Hjulmand, who currently applies his trade as a defensive midfielder for Sporting CP, has explained that following United’s interest, he feels at home at his current club.
“Estadio Jose Alvalade is a very special place to play. I feel at home. I knew the importance of the club in Portugal, and also in Europe, as Sporting has played in the Champions League and the Europa League many times,” Hjulmand told Betano.
“But it was after watching the first game, and after arriving here at the club, that I realised the importance of the club in Portugal. It was the right step and I’m very happy to be here.”
United are looking at signing a new midfielder this summer, depending on the future of Casemiro, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS team wanting to inject some fresh blood to play alongside Kobbie Mainoo.
Links with Hjulmand have since died down, and there have been murmurs that United may be putting in a mega £86 million bid for Benfica midfielder Joao Neves this summer.
