Early Manchester United team news as Erik ten Hag selects his squad to face Luton Town in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Manchester United have had a fantastic start to life in 2024, with Erik ten Hag‘s men having won five of their six games across all competitions – including three in a row in the Premier League.

The club have defeated Wolves (A), West Ham (H), and Aston Villa (A) all on the bounce and are looking to continue building this unbeaten streak as they prepare to face Luton Town on Sunday.

This will be United’s first league visit to Kenilworth Road in 32 years, and Erik ten Hag has a strong squad to select from for the tie, barring a few injuries.

Lisandro Martínez and Anthony Martial are both expected to be out until the beginning of April with knee and groin problems, respectively.

However, the recent return of Victor Lindelöf helps negate the problem in central defence, with both Raphaël Varane and Harry Maguire also available for selection.

There was a bit of a scare as Luke Shaw came off at half-time against Villa, but after the game, Ten Hag clarified that this was just a precautionary move, and the latest update explains that Shaw should be fit to face Luton.

“It was a precaution. He mentioned some complaints, and we can’t take a risk, especially not with Luke Shaw, because he has had many injuries in the past,” he said.

“We took him off so that it did not become an injury. We have to see how it develops in the coming days.”

Tyrell Malacia, Mason Mount, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka all missed the trip to Birmingham last weekend, and Wan-Bissaka is expected to be the first of this trio to be back in the matchday squad after he returned to training late last week.

Erik ten Hag is expected to give full updates on the latest team news during his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon.

For Luton, Mads Andersen, Tom Lockyer, and Marvelous Nakamba won’t be able to play for Luton. However, the recent addition, Daiki Hashioka, might make his debut if deemed fit to play.
