Lisandro Martinez claims Marcus Rashford will be one of the “best players in the world”

Lisandro Martinez has been a shining light for Manchester United this season, and has praised Marcus Rashford for his world-beating recent form.

After being brought in for a fee of over £50 million in the summer by Erik ten Hag, many questioned how Martinez could benefit Manchester United, however he has since become an absolute fan favourite at the club – showing Ten Hag made the correct decision to bring him in.

Another decision the Dutch manager made which is currently paying off it’s dividends is putting his faith in Marcus Rashford. Rashford has scored for five fixtures in a row since the return of the World Cup, and is establishing himself as one of the league’s top wingers.

Lisandro Martinez, speaking to Sky Sports after United’s 3-1 FA Cup victory over Everton, had a lot to say about the Englishman.

“For me, Rashy is an incredible player,” Martinez explained. “He can be anything he wants to be, it all depends on him.

“I see him around the place and he’s such a professional. I know how much he gives every day in the training sessions, and I like to think that I’m always there to help him and speak with him if he needs any advice.”

Marcus Rashford has shown himself to be an integral player to Erik ten Hag’s set up, having scored 13 goals so far this season and assisting a further five. He was involved in all three of Manchester United’s goals on Friday evening.

“I totally agree totally with Casemiro (about Rashford),” said Martinez. “He’s a key player for us and he’s the sort of player who can turn a game in an instant.”

Martinez rounded up his comments by saying: “He realises the importance of the team and his work rate for the team is very, very important as well. He’s got a great attitude and I think he’s going to be one of the best players in the world.”

Only time can tell whether Marcus Rashford ends his career as one of the best in the world or not, however with him tallying over 100 career goals to date for Manchester United, there is no doubt that he will go down as a memorable players in the club’s history.
