In an end-to-end game, Manchester United came on top against Everton to progress to the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Marcus Rashford was the standout on the night, creating both of United’s goals. First, he found Antony, who tapped home, before forcing Conor Coday to score into his own goal after he was the man to equalise for The Blues. He scored a penalty in the last minute to secure the win.

United will find out their next opponents in the competition after tomorrow night’s games.

Here are the player ratings from the cup victory, which made it seven wins in a row for The Reds.

David de Gea – 4/10

Not quite sure how he allowed the ball to go through his legs for Everton’s equaliser. Was holding his post yet again for Everton’s disallowed goal in the second half.

Diogo Dalot – 7/10

A solid outing in his return to the line-up. The right-back was in an important defensive position to guide a dangerous Everton chance wide. Some dangerous crosses into the box.

Raphael Varane – 7.5/10

Some important moments in defensive transition during the encounter. Produced the best skill of the night when he found himself on the right wing.

Luke Shaw – 7.5/10

Looked comfortable, yet again, in his third centre-back outing in the last four games. His EIGHT passes into the final third shows exactly why Ten Hag is utilising him there. Moved to left-back in the last 15 minutes and had one shakey moment.

Tyrell Malacia – 6/10

Struggled at times against the lively Demarai Gray.

Casemiro – 7.5/10

A slightly sloppier performance in possession this evening by the Brazilian. Still a decent overall showing and his usual excellence out of possession.

Christian Eriksen – 7.5/10

Went close to scoring a wonderful goal with his left foot. Great cross-field pass to Rashford ahead of United’s second.

Antony – 7/10

In the right position at the right time to score his fourth United goal. Still lacking that cutting edge when in possession of the ball, however.

Bruno Fernandes – 7/10

A great effort in the second half was denied by Jordan Pickford. Another solid performance from the Portuguese.

Marcus Rashford – 9/10

Going from strength to strength. Brilliant take-on and assist for Antony’s opener and then created United’s second. Looked dangerous all evening, going on the inside or the outside, and got his goal in the last minute. A well-taken penalty.

Anthony Martial – 6.5/10

Important hold-up play in the build-up to United’s opener. He needs to start finishing his chances, another couple wasted this evening before he was replaced.

Substitutes

Alejandro Garnacho – 8/10

Not much to feed off of initially but won a penalty in the last minute.

Fred – 6.5/10

A decent performance from the bench.

Lisandro Martinez – 6/10

Did well in his second appearance since returning.

Harry Maguire – N/A

Scott McTominay – N/A
