Jadon Sancho’s loan move to Borussia Dortmund was completed on Thursday afternoon, and former Manchester United players have sent messages across.

Sancho, 23, has not played for United since his social media outburst at the beginning of September when he accused manager Erik ten Hag of lying.

The winger described himself as a ‘scapegoat’ after Ten Hag told the media that Sancho was left out of the squad to face Arsenal due to his training performance ahead of the fixture.

After conversations with the manager and staff to try and resolve the issue, Sancho deleted the statement but would not apologise to the Dutch coach and has been training away from the first-team squad ever since.

Now, with his return to his former side Dortmund confirmed, Sancho has the opportunity to return to the pitch and either fight his way back into the United side next year, or secure a stronger move away from Old Trafford after a torrid few years.

The playmaker has since reactivated his Instagram account, which was deactivated shortly after his feud with Ten Hag, and posted a simple message.

With a picture of him in his new no.10 Dortmund shirt, Sancho wrote: “2024, let’s go!”

Whilst the 23-year-old has restricted those who can reply to the accounts that he is following, two former Man United players have sent their best wishes to the English wide player on his return to Germany.

Jesse Lingard, who played with Sancho during his first season at United, replied: “Good luck brother,” with two love heart emojis.

Meanwhile, Angel Gomes replied with a rocket emoji. The Lille midfielder left Old Trafford a year before Sancho joined the club but spent time with him in the England youth set-up and won the U17s World Cup together.

The likes of Jude Bellingham, Alphonso Davies and Vinicius Junior have also left replies under Sancho’s post. No current United players have commented, but Christian Eriksen, Rasmus Hojlund and Antony have liked the post.
