INEOS receive major Jason Wilcox update with Man United start date revealed
Jason Wilcox will become Manchester United’s new technical director under INEOS once he completes a move from his current club Southampton.
Wilcox joined The Saints at the end of last season as the club’s sporting director. He was key in numerous different aspects of their reshuffle.
INEOS themselves are attempting an overhaul at Old Trafford following Sir Jim Ratcliffe purchasing a stake in United and bringing Wilcox into the building will be a key moment.
The former Manchester City academy director will be even more crucial, considering recent reports have suggested Dan Ashworth, the prospective sporting director at Old Trafford, will not be in place for the summer transfer window.
Southampton had rebuffed United’s original compensation proposal for Wilcox, which was for around a years-worth of his salary at St Mary’s.
However, new updates from Muppetiers have stated that talks have since gone smoothly between the two clubs, with there being confidence that a compensation fee with be agreed upon to allow Wilcox to join United in the near future.
It was added that United’s new technical director could begin his duties around the beginning of May.
This report was supported by social media account AcademyScoop, who stated that INEOS are planning to have the former Blackburn Rovers winger in his role in the coming weeks to be ready to begin work ahead of the summer transfer window.
Omar Berrada will also be joining the club once the current season ends, and INEOS will be hoping to see further developments in terms of personnel as we approach the summer.
