“I knew…” – André Onana reveals Man United FA Cup prediction after Nottingham Forest win
André Onana kept a clean sheet during Manchester United’s 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup fifth round on Wednesday evening.
It was the goalkeeper’s 11th clean sheet of the season despite having difficulties across the campaign.
United were able to snatch victory at the City Ground following Casemiro’s late winner. Bruno Fernandes delivered an inviting cross from a free-kick, which the Brazilian guided into the back of the net.

Despite having an underwhelming game after coming back from an injury, Fernandes was able to provide the difference against Forest at that moment, and it was something that Onana “knew” would happen.
“Of course, it is a great feeling, especially the way we won today,” the Cameroon shot-stopper told club media.
“It was not an easy game, and when Bruno took that free-kick, I knew something would happen.
“Great feeling, great way to win and we are now focused on the coming games.”
United have only lost once since the turn of the year but many are still unconvinced by the performances of Erik ten Hag’s team.
They face their biggest test of 2024 this weekend when they visit Manchester City in the Premier League. Pep Guardiola’s side have not lost since they travelled to Aston Villa at the beginning of December.
“We all know how important this game is for us,” added Onana, looking ahead to the Manchester Derby. “[It is important] for the club, for the city, so we have to be ready for them.
“We are Manchester United. We know it is not going to be easy but we will fight. I know my guys and I know we will fight there and we will see what will happen.
“We train every day to play these kinds of games. It is a very exciting game. We all know who we are so we will be ready for them.”
