“I can dream…” – Willy Kambwala names surprise Man United idol alongside four legends
Willy Kambwala has named Paul Scholes as a surprising Manchester United idol he wants to emulate alongside four legendary defenders.
Willy Kambwala made his Manchester United debut late last year, performing well as Erik ten Hag‘s men lost 2-0 away from home against West Ham in the Premier League.
He has played four times across 100 minutes worth of football this season and has been regularly training as an emergency central defensive option in the first-team squad.

In a recent interview with club media, Kambwala recently named Paul Scholes in a list of his idols, despite the fact that Scholes was a midfielder.
“Maldini, Puyol, Sergio Ramos, Paul Scholes… I’m a defender, but I can dream, you know!” he said.
“And Vidic… like I said, I wasn’t watching a lot of football but watching United was different for me. All of the players playing for United were inspiration for me.
“I have some inspirational people outside of football as well. My parents, brothers and sisters, some coaches and some friends.
“It’s really important, even more important than football, because when you are good outside of football, then you can perform well. They did everything for me. They are a big part of my life and my story.”
