Manchester United face Rosenborg in their first pre-season friendly game on Monday as Erik ten Hag’s side prepare for 2024/25.

The Reds have five pre-season friendlies scheduled over the next month to help prepare them for the upcoming Premier League campaign.

After returning to Carrington on Monday, the squad will travel to Norway to play against Rosenborg. All of the details for that clash can be read below.

Kick-off times and venue

The opening pre-season clash will take place at the Norweigan side’s home ground, Lerkendal Stadion in Trondheim.

To those in the United Kingdom, the kick-off time will be more familiar, with the game taking place at 17:00 BST. Just wait until those US kick-off times, though.

TV Channel

The game will be shown live on MUTV, the Manchester United website and app. Full match replays and highlights will be available shortly afterwards.

The UtdDistrict X account will be covering the fixture, with quotes from Ten Hag and the players before and after the game as well.

Available players

There is a limited squad for these opening pre-season fixtures due to the international tournaments this summer.

Kobbie Mainoo, Luke Shaw, Tom Heaton, Alejandro Garnacho and Lisandro Martínez remain with their respective nations preparing for Sunday’s finals, while many are on extended holidays after exiting the tournaments.

André Onana will be available in between the sticks, while defensive players such as Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Harry Maguire, Jonny Evans, Victor Lindelöf and Harry Amass have been in training.

Willy Kambwala is unlikely to feature due to his expected departure to Villarreal. It is not known whether Evans has been training all week, and Maguire has recently returned from the injury that forced him out of Euro 2024.

In midfield, Mason Mount will be keen to get to work. Casemiro and Hannibal Mejbri have also returned to training and will be involved.

Marcus Rashford, Antony and Amad Diallo are the main senior options in forward areas, with Joshua Zirkzee not yet at the club and Jadon Sancho unavailable for the opening pre-season clash.

Of course, there is a large group of Academy players who will bolster the squad, with several exciting options ready to impress Ten Hag and his coaching staff.
