Kobbie Mainoo proves Erik ten Hag’s Euro 2024 comments right with brilliant reply

Kobbie Mainoo has been proving Erik ten Hag correct with his recent comments surrounding the Manchester United star’s brilliant mentality.
England‘s journey through the 2024 European Championships has been a rollercoaster ride for fans across the United Kingdom.
Manchester United boast two representatives in the squad: Kobbie Mainoo and Luke Shaw. Both players have become increasingly vital during the nation’s path to the final.

Initially, Mainoo did not start in any of the group-stage fixtures. However, since the quarter-finals, he has become a mainstay in the side, establishing himself as one of England’s standout performers in their tumultuous journey to the final. Shaw, on the other hand, has excelled as a substitute in the last two matches and is set to start against Spain on Sunday.
Wednesday evening featured another stellar performance from Mainoo, which delighted United manager Erik ten Hag despite it being against his home nation.
“As much as I hoped Oranje would win, I enjoyed Kobbie Mainoo,” Ten Hag said via The Mirror. “What a talent. Technically, but also mentally.
“Kobbie is a great kid. I really thought he was one of the best players on the pitch against Holland. He was crucial in England’s dominance in the first half hour.”
Mainoo’s brilliant mentality is something he has once again shown during a recent interview with the England camp ahead of the final.
Just as Ten Hag has done, Mainoo has been receiving endless praise for his England displays. When asked about his reaction to said praise, Mainoo gave a humble but strong reply.
“It’s been good to play my part when called upon, but I can’t look back on it too fondly until the job is finished and we’ve lifted the trophy,” Mainoo told England ahead of the final.
When Ten Hag mentions Mainoo’s mentality, this is exactly what he means. Mainoo knows that, despite all the hard work, the end goal is not praise, but instead results. This is the thinking that England must have to defeat Spain on Sunday evening.
