Harry Maguire has reportedly been offered to a Sere A giant by Manchester United, about which he once waxed lyrical.

Harry Maguire‘s future at Manchester United remains in the balance following a positive end to the second campaign under Erik ten Hag.

After the Dutch manager stripped him of the captaincy at Old Trafford, many thought his time at the club was done during the 2023 summer transfer window, but a move to West Ham collapsed, and he remained.

A crisis of injuries in defence led to United needing to rely on Maguire for large parts of the season. He mostly performed well, but he also succumbed to his own injuries and missed out on the FA Cup final win.

With United wanting to bring in multiple central defenders this summer, Maguire may be moved on as one of the club’s most sellable assets, and a new report has explained that there is a possibility he may move to AC Milan.

This is according to local outlet Milan Press. A claim has been made that representatives of United have “offered” Maguire to the Serie A giants as his contract is set to expire in June 2025, and they want him off their books.

Maguire himself has previously praised Milan, saying before the two sides met in the 2021 Europa League knockout stages that they are a huge European side that must play for trophies.

“They are a top team, great club. I watched Milan in the past against the biggest European clubs. I think it’s one of the strongest teams in the competition,” he said in a press conference before the first leg at Old Trafford.

“When you play for such an important club, you have to play to lift trophies.”

United went on to win the two-legged knockout tie 2-1 thanks to a fantastic goal from Amad in the first leg at Old Trafford before Paul Pogba scored an early winner at the San Siro.
