Manchester United have released a full statement after the club confirmed they will be subsidising the ticket prices for under-16 season ticket holders for the FA Cup final.

The Reds will face Manchester City in the FA Cup final on Saturday, 25 May, at 3pm (UK time) in what will be the first repeat of the previous final since before the 19th century.

Erik ten Hag’s side have beaten Wigan, Newport County, Nottingham Forest, Liverpool and Coventry City to reach the Wembley final once again.

Now, the club have confirmed that they will be contributing £30 to the cost of every ticket purchased for under-16 season ticket holders for the memorable occasion, with those tickets now available for as little as £5.

The club statement read: “Manchester United will contribute £30 to the cost of every Emirates FA Cup final ticket purchased for our under-16 season ticket holders, meaning young fans can attend the season finale at Wembley from just £5.

“The ticket subsidy, which is in addition to the £10 reduction the FA applies, adds to a range of club policies to make following United as accessible as possible for younger fans, including a 50 per cent discount for under-16s across all areas of Old Trafford, as well as youth season tickets being priced at just £16 per game.”

Rick McGagh, Director of Fan Engagement, added: “Every young football fan dreams of seeing their team win the FA Cup at Wembley.

“Working alongside the Fans’ Forum, we are delighted to make this dream a more affordable reality for our under 16 season ticket holders by subsidising their tickets so they can attend for as little as £5.

“Promoting and investing in youth is part of the fabric of this football club and we are proud to offer more support to our young fans.

“We know two trips to Wembley – and three for those also attending the women’s FA Cup final – in the space of a month is expensive for all fans, but especially so for young fans who usually attend with other family members. We look forward to having lots of our young supporters cheering the team on at Wembley.”
