Manchester United team news
The Reds will be without two first-team attackers, with both Jadon Sancho and Antony away from the squad for non-injury reasons.
The right-wing also sees the continued rehabilitation of Amad Diallo, who will not be fit in time for the fixture.
The squad, however, will be boosted by the return of Lisandro Martínez, who originally was a doubt due to an injury suffered against Arsenal – but he is fit for the fixture.
The same goes for Victor Lindelöf, who despite being substituted due to illness against Arsenal, is fit to play. Raphaël Varane, however, is not.
In midfield, Mason Mount is not available. Originally, it was expected that he would be fit in time to play Brighton, but Ten Hag confirmed on Friday afternoon that he will not be in the squad.
The United boss also confirmed that Sofyan Amrabat is not yet fit enough to make his club debut but is not far away from being available. “He came back unfortunately with the injury, so he will not be available for tomorrow, but I think, on the short notice [soon], yes,” he said.
Finally, Tom Heaton is not expected to be available, but with Andrè Onana and Altay Bayındır both fit, there was little chance that he was going to be included in the matchday squad.
Kobbie Mainoo, Luke Shaw, and Tyrell Malacia all remain sidelined.
Brighton team news
Brighton have two players who are certainly out for the fixture, with four more potential doubts.
Talented winger Julio Enciso, who was included alongside Alejandro Garnacho in a recent best young Premier League talent list, has been ruled out with a knee problem, while Jakub Moder has been unavailable for the last year following a serious ACL injury.
As for the doubt list, Evan Ferguson had to withdraw from the recent Ireland squad due to a “sore knee”, and although he was spotted in training on Thursday, there is yet to be confirmation if he can play from the start or not. Former United player Danny Welbeck missed Brighton’s last match, against Newcastle, due to a minor issue.
Finally, both Carlos Baleba and Ansu Fati arrived at the Amex Stadium late in the window and their fitness for involvement is yet to be tested.
