“Surprised me…” – Granada boss reveals what he didn’t expect from Man United’s Facundo Pellistri
Alexander Medina has explained what has come unexpected to him in relation to Manchester United loanee Facundo Pellistri.
Facundo Pellistri is spending the remainder of the 2023/24 season on loan at La Liga side Granada from Manchester United after a last-minute move was eventually sanctioned following weeks of negotiations.
Pellistri has played two games so far for the Spanish side and recently performed very well in a 3-3 draw with Barcelona, grabbing himself a goal and assist in the away draw.

Alexander Medina, current Granada boss, has spoken about Pellistri, explaining that he was positively surprised with the defensive performance the young winger gave beyond his attacking contributions against Barcelona.
As quoted by Sport890, Medina said: “Facu Pellistri surprised me in the first talk we had, in these two weeks of work he has given us a lot and in defensive solidarity.
“I looked for Pellistri because he knew what he could give us. He meets all the conditions on the wing, he had his personal ambition for growth and that leaves me happy.
“With Barcelona, he made a lot of effort in defense to execute the pressure, he had a goal, an assist. He is consolidated in Europe, and it is up to us to guide him, so this is a positive loan.”
Granada will next face Almeria at home as they aim to climb themselves out of the relegation zone. They currently sit in 19th on 13 points, two places and seven points from safety.
