Granada manager Alexander Medina has provided his assessment on Manchester United loanee Facundo Pellistri after his excellent display against Barcelona.

Pellistri, 22, moved to the Spanish side on loan last month and made a positive debut against Las Palmas last weekend, with his side down to 10 men for most of the game.

However, the United loanees contribution in his second start against Barcelona proved to be even more impactful. The winger scored a well-taken goal after a brilliant assist from a cutback cross.

Granada were able to come out of the game with a point after the La Liga clash ended 3-3, with Pellistri’s goal and assist crucial in the end.

The wide player started just three games for United in the first half of the season despite the struggles Erik ten Hag had on the right wing.

Medina has praised the young Urugauyan for his performances and how he has adapted to the club in a short time period, although suggested that the player was ‘neglected’ whilst at Old Trafford.

“Facundo’s contribution is a lot,” he told reporters after the Barcelona game, as quoted by futbolfantasy. “When I spoke with Facundo to bring him to Granada I opened the proposal to him about what I thought of him, what I wanted from him.

“And already in his second game he was more than demonstrating the quality, the hierarchy that he has. The other day he had a great game, playing from the 18th minute with one less and the truth is that we had a great game and he had a very good game.

“I am very satisfied. I am very happy with his signing and [his loan] will serve to achieve continuity, to achieve minutes, to show his football. In Manchester he was quite neglated.”
