Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that Marcel Sabitzer would be “really happy” to extend his stay at Manchester United at the end of the season for several reasons.

The Bayern Munich midfielder joined United on loan in January as a last-minute replacement for Christian Eriksen, who fell to a serious ankle injury as deadline day approached.

United were offered several players as they looked to snatch a deal on the last day of the window and they snubbed several to sign Sabitzer, who has made a great impression since coming to Old Trafford.

The Austrian is a dynamic midfield player who can win the ball and help create dangerous opportunities in attack. His leadership qualities are also useful to a side looking to create a winning mentality after winning their first trophy in six years.

Fans certainly seem open to a permanent move for Sabziter and the player is seemingly taking the same stance.

The ever-reliable Fabrizio Romano has reported that Sabitzer would be really happy to stay at the club on a permanent deal in the summer and that the player is also really happy with the club as a whole, as well as his relationship with the dressing room and manager Erik ten Hag.

However, the report added that the player realises that this will be something that is dealt with in the summer. United are still competing on three different fronts despite their Carabao Cup glory on the weekend and will move their focus to deal with transfers once the summer comes. The club know that the player is open to signing.

Sabizter has made five appearances for The Reds since joining the club and has already left a favourable impression.

Many are excited to see him operate alongside Casemiro in the midfield. He is likely to start in the FA Cup clash against West Ham on Wednesday, but it’s expected the Brazilian will be rested for the Liverpool game at the weekend.
