Manchester United target Michael Olise is reportedly set to be available for less than his previously reported £60 million release clause.

Olise, 22, has emerged as one of United’s top targets following a series of excellent performances for Premier League side Crystal Palace. Additionally, Olise’s contract at Palace is believed to hold a release clause below what would otherwise be his market value.

When news first broke that Olise’s most recent deal at Palace would include a £60 million release clause, United fans jumped at the prospect of the French forward joining the side in the near future.

Dubbed a ‘no brainer’ by fans of the club, in news that will be music to fans of the Red Devils’ ears, Olise’s release clause is now believed to be less than the initially reported £60 million.

Speaking to The United Stand, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano would state the following regarding Olise’s previously reported release clause:

“I think it’s less than this. I will be able to say this in the next months, but I don’t think it’s £60 or £70 million.”

Olise, it was claimed last week would prefer to sign for United ahead of a potential move to Premier League rivals Chelsea. It was also noted in that same report that Olise was a United fan throughout his childhood.

United are in desperate need of top-quality reinforcements for the right wing and are believed to be open to sanctioning the departures of both Jadon Sancho and Antony to fund any additions to the squad.

Manchester United legend Andy Cole recently told BetFred that he hopes his former club commit to selling Antony and bringing in Olise.

Cole would state that Olise was “most definitely” an upgrade on Antony, the latter of whom he stated he is, “still waiting to see what he’s good at.”

Antony produced his first competitive goal and assist over the weekend during United’s 4-2 FA Cup victory against Newport County.
