Manchester United have been told to activate the release clause of Michael Olise as INEOS identify the Crystal Palace winger as the first major target under Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

INEOS are very quickly making their mark at Manchester United, having already influenced the decision not to renew the contract of Raphaël Varane at its current salary.

Another is the calibre of player that Erik ten Hag shall be signing, with Michael Olise the first significant transfer link surrounding Old Trafford, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS keen on the Crystal Palace player.

Olise was mere moments away from joining Chelsea last summer after the London club activated his £35 million release clause, but the winger signed a new contract in the final moments, leaving the clause null and void, and Olise at Selhurst Park for another season.

With this in mind, it has now been revealed that his new release clause is “around the £60m mark”, according to The Mirror, with United looking to activate it in the summer.

Considering the antics of Crystal Palace and Olise’s contract in the summer, INEOS will no doubt be wary of dealing with any deal for the winger but considering the raw talent of the 22-year-old, it may be worth it.

Manchester United fans have had their say, encouraging the signing.

Olise has five goals and one assist in nine appearances for Crystal Palace this season, all in the Premier League. He recovered from a hamstring injury in November.
